In Autumn 2007 (Sept. 28th to Oct. 14th) Berlin's music label Equinox Records will tour across Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain. On stage we've got: Ceschi Ramos, Noah23, 2econd Class Citizen and label founder DJ Scientist.

Some may know Ceschi for his experimental post-psych-rock-hop-jazz-fusion outfit Anonymous Inc., others as a member of Toca, a Los Angeles based group that just recently has released a new album on Two Tone Elephants Records, and that is known for their collaborations with some of LA's finest rappers including Aceyalone and Mikah 9 (Freestyle Fellowship), Abstract Rude, 2Mex (Of Mexican Descent/Visionaries), among others. Fans of hardcore, punk and metal may also recognize Ceschi's distinct vocal abilities from his role as a lead vocalist in Dead By Wednesday. But on top of all of this, Ceschi has a promising solo career jump started by the 2004 Beyond Space Entertainment release of “Fake Flowers”, and on his 2006 Net31 Records release, “They Hate Francisco False”. Now, the “One Year And A Day”- Tour brings him to Europe for the first time.

Noah 23 is not your average rapper, with a backround in reggae, drum & bass and punk and just about any other influence imaginable, pegging this MC is no easy task. Whether in the studio or freestyling live, Mr. 23 is an unworldly force of melody, rebellion, rhythm and post modern wit. He has already shared the stage with the likes of Clouddead, Kool Keith, Tes One, Plastic Little, McEnroe, Paul Barman, Grand Buffet, K-the-I?, Josh Martinez, and many others.

With Noah23 leaving the audience breathless, 2econd Class Citizen from England takes over. His music is a hybrid of electronically produced folk rock combined with instrumental Hip-Hop beats. Both his EP Releases “Divided Reality“ and “Wyred Folk” have created a buzz of anticipation from a diverse collection of musical circles. 2econd Class Citizen recently performed at Glastonbury, one of the biggest festivals in the world and is constantly doing performances in clubs all over the UK. In his live sets he is aiming to recreate the complexity and depth of orchestration he has become known for, using live sound editing software to keep a strong improvisational aspect.

Last but not least, Equinox Record's label founder and beat producer DJ Scientist enters the stage. Combining melancholic melodies, smashing guitars and hard hitting drums, Scientist proves that sample based production can still sound fresh today. He has performed with artists such as Sage Francis, The Pharcyde, M.I.A., DJ Faust & DJ Shortee, DiViNCi, Subtitle, Boca45, The Tape, DJ Static & 88:Komaflash.

This lineup represents the label Equinox Records on stages allover Europe for the first time. The label's second compilation “One Year And A Day” will be released in late October 2007. with appearences by Ceschi Ramos, DJ Scientist, 2econd Class Citizen, Free The Robots and many others.

Noah23

Noah23 is an international hip-hop phenomenon and underground legend who has been rapping for 13 years. He was born in Natchez Mississippi and grew up amongst the indie hotbed of Guelph Ontario Canada. He has performed and sold records independently across the world and recorded over 10 albums. In the late 90's Noah started the highly regarded Plague Language label which released albums from a diverse roster of artists.

Over the past years, DJ Scientist has become an important figure in the German HipHop and Electronic scene. Running two labels (Equinox and Audiac) and publishing a magazine (DEAD Magazine), he still takes his time to dj at clubs, release mixes, expand his record collection and, last but not least, produce music.
Starting his DJ-career in 1995 and releasing several mixtapes to spread his name in his home town of Munich, he put out his first record in 2001 – a dj tool called “Mad Science Breaks”. One year later the dark and melancholic Misantropolis EP, partly produced by him, was the first release on Audiac. Since then, DJ Scientist put his main effort into his label Equinox Records, which now has its headquarters in Berlin. In 2005 he produced 3 tracks for the critically acclaimed “Welcome to the Neo Golden Age – A Sound Exposure Vol.1” Compilation. Being part of the Equinox 10inch Series, his 4 track “Journey Goodbye EP” (2006) contained the outstanding “Atarius” as well as the dreamy vibes of “Autumn Leaves”. Recently The Dedicated Beatheads (consisting of him and Snatchatec) released a furious Mix-CD called “Sound Convention Vol.1”, shortly followed by a Remix 12” to be heard on dancefloors across Europe.
Besides other projects, DJ Scientist is currently working on a second part of the Sound Exposure compilation series. It will feature artists like Free The Robots (LA), Arcsin (New York), Aqua Luminus (Munich), Emynd (Philadelphia), Vangel (Canada), Deckard (Munich), and many others.

Die Fuckparade 2007 startet am 18. August um 15 Uhr am Frankfurter Tor, dem Ort, an dem Polizisten 2001 aufgrund einer rechtswidrigen Auflage der Versammlungsbehörde Walkmänner und Radios beschlagnahmt haben.

Wir kämpfen seit 1997 für Subkulturen, gegen Drogenhysterie, Repression durch Behörden und Polizeigewalt – die ersten Jahre auch gegen die Love Parade. Seit 2001 haben wir uns von ihr emanzipiert, denn sie ist für unsere Kultur belanglos geworden. Es gibt wichtigere Themen, gegen die es sich zu demonstrieren lohnt:

§129a. Anti-Terrorgesetze gegen das Volk. Rechtswidrige Razzien. Und die massive Verdrängung von etlichen Kulturprojekten durch MediaSpree.

Der Staat zieht die Schrauben an. Politikerinnen und Politiker nutzen die Angstkeule des Terrorismus, um mit dem Gummiparagrafen 129a die Linke mit Hausdurchsuchungen und Festnahmen zu drangsalieren.

Die Staatsmacht lässt immer unverhohlener ihre Gewalt spielen und steckt G8-Gegner in Guantanamo-Käfige oder nimmt Bibliotheksbesuche und intellektuelle Begabungen als Anlass, Wissenschaftler ins Gefängnis zu sperren.

Clubs werden mit massiven Polizeiaufgeboten heimgesucht, die Besucherinnen für Stunden festgehalten, um nachher 10 Gramm Gras zu konfiszieren. Und ganz nebenbei verschärft der rot-rote Senat die Polizeigesetze, anstatt endlich mal die Kennzeichnungspflicht für die Ordnungshüter einzuführen.

Schäuble und seine Sicherheitsfreunde überschlagen sich mit Forderungen – mehr Überwachung, weniger Freiheit. Online-Hausdurchsuchungen und Internetüberwachung sind schon Dinge, die zu weit gehen. Aber mittlerweile wird auch von Schutzhaft gesprochen und präventiven Tötungen. Mittel, die vor kurzem noch als Instrumente totalitärer Staaten verurteilt wurden. Wenn sich nicht langsam dicker Protest dagegen regt, werden die Spielräume, in denen man dem Staat auch mal den Stinkefinger zeigen kann, enger. Es geht also ums Ganze: die Freiheit.

Und während munter und ohne große Widerrede Freiheit, Rechtsstaat und Bürgerrechte demoliert werden, bauen uns die Investoren Schritt für Schritt die Scheiße in die Stadt.

Ob das potthässliche Alexa-Center am Alex, Werbetafeln an der Spree, Büroklötze am Ufer – oder die Monster-O2-Arena an der Warschauer Straße.
Investoren und Stadt wollen, dass sich die Subkultur verpisst: ob Bar25, Köpi, RAW Tempel, Cassiopeia, Schwarzer Kanal und viele weitere. In die Außenbezirke, damit die schönsten Plätze zu langweiligen Vergnügungscentern der Mainstreamkultur werden. Mediaspree ist ihr Zauberwort, und sie nennen es auch noch „Ankerplatz Zukunft“.

Diese Zukunft ist nicht unsere Zukunft – lasst uns die Ankerkette zerschlagen. Zum Beispiel auf der Fuckparade. Die kämpft seit 10 Jahren für Liberalisierung der Drogenpolitik, für Freiräume und Subkultur und gegen die Kommerzialisierung der Stadt und des großen Ganzen. Sie ist weiterhin ein wichtiges politisches Event in dieser Stadt.

Verbündet Euch, bildet bunte Banden, habt Spaß und kämpft. Zumindest ein bisschen. Zum Beispiel am Samstag, 18. August. 15 Uhr, Frankfurter Tor, Berlin-Friedrichshain.

Paul Rose alias Scuba ist ein Dubstepper der ersten Stunde. Sein 2003 gegründetes Label „Hotflush Recordings“ deckt das gesamte stilistische Spektrum des Genres ab, und hat sich zu einer der einflussreichsten Plattformen der Szene entwickelt. So vielseitig wie die Veröffentlichungen auf Hotflush sind auch seine DJs-Sets und eigenen Produktionen, mit denen er konstant die Grenzen zwischen Dubstep und angrenzenden Stilrichtungen auslotet. Bereits vor einem Jahr legte er bei einer Freak Camp Session einen fulminanten Auftritt hin, der geradezu nach einer Wiederholung schrie.

Dass Dubstep auch in den Vereinigten Staaten Fuß gefasst hat, beweist The Lexxus. Vor allem in seiner Heimatstadt San Francisco hat sich eine lebhafte Szene mit eigenen Partys und Labels, sowie einem eigenständigen, von Hip-Hop und Hyphie beeinflussten, Dubstep-Stil entwickelt. The Lexxus zählt zu den Pionieren, die SF auf die Dubstep-Weltkarte gesetzt haben und macht auf seiner Mission, den neuen Westküsten-Sound in Europe zu verbreiten, auch in Berlin halt.

Paul Rose aka Scuba is the founder and owner of Hotflush Recordings, one of the most influential labels in the dubstep scene. He also is an excellent producer and dj in his own right, well-known for bridging the gaps between dubstep and neighboring genres on his releases and in his dj sets. On his first appearance at a Freak Camp Session almost exactly one year ago, he literally tore down the dancefloor. No doubt, we had to get him back for a second round!

The Lexxus reps for San Francisco and its burgeoning dubstep scene. With labels like Argon and Narco.Hz and numerous well-established parties, the Bay Area has developped into on of the hot spots for dubstep in the US of A. A true pioneer of this scene, Mr. Lexxus will give us a taste of how the new West Coast sounds like.

Boom Bip will be taking a trek around Europe in April and he'll also be releasing his next EP on Lex Records.

The fifteen date tour will call at locations like Rome, Paris and Berlin, while the UK section of their jaunt included four date - with two taking place as part of Scotland's annual Triptych Festival.

Boom Bip has also spoken about his forthcoming release; "New EP out on 23 April in the UK. May 8th US. Is called Sacchrilege on Lex Records. It is dancetastic. Finally a Boom Bip release for DJs."

Before adding about his new collaborative project Neon Neon (with Gruff Rhys). "Neon Neon single to come very, very soon. We are mixing the album now and the excitement is destroying me. finally, a year of hard work coming into fruition."

Änderung: Leider musste der bisher angekündigte Headliner Benga seinen Auftritt absagen! Als mehr als gleichwertigen Ersatz haben wir kurzfristig D1 verpflichtet.

Nach dem großen Erfolg der Session im Rahmen des Club Transmediale legt die Freak Camp Crew nach und holt mit Benga, N-Type, Subeena und Dot zwei tragende Säulen und zwei vielversprechende Newcomer der Londoner Dubstep-Szene in die Hauptstadt.

D1 gehört zusammen mit Skream und Benga zur jungen Generation von Produzenten, die den Sound des Londoner Untergrunds in den vergangenen Jahren revolutioniert haben. Als Sohn eines Jungle-Produzenten wurde ihm die Rave-Tradition quasi mit der DNS vererbt, als ausgebildeter Saxophonist sind ihm auch traditionelle Instrumente nicht fremd. Seine Musik vereint diese Einflüsse – schwere Beats und Bässe, sowie warme Melodien – zu einem unverwechselbaren eigenen Stil.

N-Type wurde im Dezember 2006 von der internationalen Dubstep-Community (www.dubstepforum.com) zum besten DJ des Jahres gewählt und zudem für seine Radiosendung auf dem Londoner Sender Rinse FM ausgezeichnet. Er stellt gerade den fünften Teil der Mix-CD-Serie „Dubstep Allstars“ zusammen.

Subeena und Dot sind zwei talentierte Produzentinnen und DJs mit italienischem, bzw. slowenischem Background, die seit einiger Zeit in London für Aufsehen sorgen. Bei der Freak Camp Session werden sie ihr unveröffentlichtes Material in einem gemeinsamen DJ-Set vorstellen.

Freak Camp Session returns with a big line-up featuring Croydon’s forward-thinking production wizard BENGA, multiple-award-winning turntable don N-TYPE and up-and-coming power units SUBEENA and DOT on the decks. VCF is located in the center of East Berlin (right beside Alexanderplatz) and has a 14 kw sound system.

D1 together withe the likes of Skream and Benga - is one of the young producers who have revolutionized the sound of the London underground in recent years. Born as the son of a jungle producer he literally inherited rave tradition in his DNA. As a talented saxophonist he also knows how to write a decent melody. By combining these influences he has a created a unique sound of his own.
